Original stories set in the world of iconic video games are featured in this animated anthology series. Video games have made the leap to the screen in a big way, and we’re celebrating the genre with a closer look at over 50 video game adaptations in movies and shows. Clive Standen will reprise his voice role as Demetrius Titus, the title character in the video game Space Marine 2. The episode takes place after the events of the game. As referenced in Film Junk Podcast: Episode 973: Carry-On (2024). The animation is beautiful, that’s for sure. Still, I struggle to get excited about episodes this short. They feel like apprentice attempts. You can’t get fully excited, like you know it’s over before you can even get any kind of connection to the characters. It was nice to see some celebrity involvement. Reeves and Arnie both play enjoyable roles. It’s just that it’s all a little too experimental and shallow for me. Plus, if I was given the chance to choose the source material. I guess I would have chosen a completely different set of games to follow. The Pacman episode was okay. But it was a demonstration of artistic license being taken to its absolute limit. It made me laugh at least. Overall, I found the entire series a bit underwhelming. 6 for visuals.
